Test, validate and match regular expressions
This PCRE pattern captures the literal word 'trekking' only when it does not appear between two double quotes (apex). It consumes any leading word characters, whitespace, or angle brackets, then uses a negative lookahead to reject positions where the keyword would fall inside a quoted string. It's useful for searching text or HTML-like content for a keyword while ignoring occurrences within quoted values. The global and multiline flags allow matching across every line of input.
