The surrounding character classes match common text characters including letters, digits, spaces, and symbols like . | / : ( ) < > = - # " , so the pattern consumes the full surrounding note. It's designed for extracting transaction IDs from WooCommerce order notes or Authorize.Net payment gateway logs.
