Test, validate and match regular expressions
This PCRE regex matches lines of code containing an assignment statement ending with a semicolon, capturing the variable name on the left side of the equals sign in the second capture group. It deliberately avoids comparison operators (==, !=, <=, >=) by requiring a non-operator character after '=' and excluding those symbols from the variable name itself. Useful for parsing C-style source code to extract variable assignments, e.g., in refactoring or static analysis tools.
