Build, test, and debug regular expressions
Matches valid numbers in scientific notation, optionally starting with a + or - sign. The mantissa can be an integer (42), a decimal with digits on both sides (3.14), a leading dot (.5), or a trailing dot (5.). An optional exponent section ([eE][+\-]?\d+) allows forms like -1.6e-19 or 2E+8. Typically used for validating or extracting numeric values from scientific data, logs, or configuration files, with g and m flags to find matches across multiple lines.
