Matches URIs beginning with http://, https://, ircs://, or a bare www. prefix. It captures the protocol scheme, the domain name (labels of word/hyphen characters separated by dots), and optionally a port number and a path/query string containing letters, digits, and common URL symbols like ?, =, &, #, and ;. With the global and case-insensitive flags, it is well suited for extracting or linkifying URLs from unstructured text.
