Test, validate and match regular expressions
Matches loose time strings: one or two digits for the hour, an optional colon followed by one or two minute digits, and an optional ' a.m' or ' p.m' meridiem marker (without the trailing period). It captures examples like '9', '12:30', or '3:45 p.m'. Since it is unanchored, it extracts such time fragments from anywhere in a text, making it suitable for parsing casual time references. Note the redundant quantifiers ({1}, {0,1}) and non-capturing optimization opportunities.
