Test, validate and match regular expressions
Matches qualified database object names in the form schema.table: one or more non-whitespace characters, a separator (dot or backslash), then one or more non-whitespace characters. Because the segments rely on \S, they can contain letters, digits, underscores, and other symbols, so it also matches multi-part names like db.schema.table. Commonly used to extract or validate fully-qualified table references in SQL code analysis, though it will also match any dotted string such as file names or domains.
