Test, validate and match regular expressions
This regex captures a token that begins with a digit and is surrounded by whitespace on both sides. The non-capturing groups consume leading characters up to whitespace and trailing whitespace/content after the match, isolating the number-like token in the capture group. It's commonly used to extract numeric values embedded within sentences or delimited text, such as converting number substrings from free-form strings.
