Matches US Social Security Numbers in formats like 123-45-6789, 123 45 6789 (double spaces), 123.45.6789, or unseparated 123456789. The area number is restricted to a leading digit of 0-7 per historical SSN rules, and a PCRE conditional ensures a second separator is required only if one appeared after the first three digits. Useful for detecting sensitive PII in text, logs, or data loss prevention scans.
