Build, test, and debug regular expressions
Matches a backslash followed by one or more word characters followed by another backslash, i.e. a \folder\ segment in a Windows-style path. With the global and multiline flags, it is typically used in editors to find and replace the first folder in each file path (e.g. turning \Users\john\file.txt into a rewritten path). Note that the repeated capture group (\w)* only stores the last character matched; \\(\w+)\\ would capture the full folder name.
