Regex Tester & Validator

Parses bank statement transaction descriptions to extract the merchant or vendor name. It optionally skips prefixes like 'ACH debit' or 'point of sale debit', a location code (e.g., 'l123'), optional TIME/DATE stamps, and trailing reference numbers, phone numbers, or hash IDs. The capture group retains lowercase letters, hyphens, apostrophes, and spaces forming the merchant name. Useful for cleaning and categorizing financial transaction data from debit/credit card statements.
