Matches placeholder tokens wrapped in percent signs, such as %keyword%, %user_name%, or %first-name%, where the inner name consists of word characters with an optional hyphen or underscore separator. The outer plus quantifier also allows matching consecutive placeholders like %first%%last% in a single match. Typically used for search-and-replace operations in templates, mail merges, or string interpolation systems.
