Test, validate and match regular expressions
This regex matches a single non-alphanumeric character (anything except a-z, A-Z, 0-9) that is immediately followed by another non-word character, as enforced by the \B non-word-boundary assertion. It's commonly used with JavaScript's replace() method to strip punctuation, symbols, and whitespace from strings, keeping only letters and digits for text cleanup or normalization.
