Matches assignment statements line-by-line, capturing the left-hand side (variable name plus preceding text) in group 1 and the assigned value (up to a semicolon) in group 2. With global and multiline flags, it can process entire files like configuration or source code, extracting key-value pairs from lines such as `var x = 5;`. Note that group 1 is greedy and may include extra characters before the actual variable name, so it works best for simple, single-assignment lines.
