Test, validate and match regular expressions
Matches single- or double-quoted strings that permit escaped characters inside them, such as \" or \' inside a quoted value. The opening quote is captured in group 1 and the content in group 2, matched lazily so it stops at the first unescaped matching quote enforced by the \1 backreference. Escaped sequences pass through the \\. alternative. Ideal for extracting string literals from source code, parsing quoted values in configs or CSVs, and tokenizing text with mixed quote styles.
