Build, test, and debug regular expressions
Matches any run of three or more identical consecutive characters using a capture group and backreference, where (.) captures a character and \1{2} requires it to repeat twice more. Commonly used to detect 'broken keyboard' input where a key got stuck, such as 'aaa' or '!!!'. Typical use cases include input validation, spam detection, filtering repetitive text, and normalizing strings with excessive character repetition.
