Build, test, and debug regular expressions
Matches phone numbers in flexible North American formats with optional country code prefix (e.g., +1 or 1). Supports area codes wrapped in parentheses, and allows separators like periods, hyphens, or whitespace between digit groups (555-123-4567, (555) 123.4567, +1 555 123 4567). The trailing digit group accepts 4 or more digits, and the gm flags enable finding multiple matches across lines, making it useful for extracting or validating phone numbers in text.
