Test, validate and match regular expressions
Validates passwords that must be exactly 8 characters long and contain at least one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter, one digit, and one special character (printable ASCII symbols like !@#$%^&*). It uses positive lookaheads to enforce each character class requirement, with anchors ensuring the entire password matches. Note that despite typical password policies, this enforces exactly 8 characters rather than a minimum length. Useful for registration forms and authentication systems with multiline input.
