Matches 16-digit primary account numbers (PANs), such as credit card numbers, either as a continuous 16-digit string or as four whitespace-separated groups of 4 digits using a backreference. Commonly used in PCI-DSS compliance scanning and data loss prevention to detect card numbers in text. Note the grouped alternative only matches when all four groups are identical (e.g., 4111 4111 4111 4111), which is a limitation for real-world card formats.
