Build, test, and debug regular expressions
Matches hierarchical numbered references at the start of a line, such as '1.2', '3.4.5', or '12.10.3', where each segment is 1-2 digits separated by dots. With the multiline flag, ^ anchors to each line start, making it ideal for scanning documents for section numbers, outline items, or dotted version-style identifiers. Requires at least one dotted prefix followed by a final number, so plain integers like '5' are not matched.
