Matches decimal numbers consisting of one or more digits, a literal dot, and one or more digits, such as 3.14 or 100.50. The global flag finds all occurrences in a text, and the multiline flag works across line breaks. Ideal for extracting real numbers from documents, logs, or user input, though it won't match negative signs, integers without a fractional part, or scientific notation.
