Test, validate and match regular expressions
A log-parsing regex using Python named capture groups. It captures a timestamp (everything before a colon-digit sequence like seconds), skips over a numeric field and a word (such as severity level or PID), then captures the program/process name before a final colon, matching the rest of the line. Useful for extracting structured data from syslog-style or application log lines where you need timestamps and program names.
