Build, test, and debug regular expressions
Matches any single character that immediately precedes the letter 'y'. The lookahead (?=.y) verifies that the next two characters are any-char followed by 'y' without consuming them, then \K resets the match start so only one character (the final dot) is reported as the match. The result is also captured in the misspelled named group 'postion'. Useful in PCRE for precise cursor/match-position manipulation and context-dependent single-character extraction.
