This regex validates MasterCard credit card numbers according to the 2017 BIN range expansion. It accepts numbers starting with 51-55 (traditional range) as well as the expanded 222100-272099 range, all requiring exactly 16 digits. It's useful for payment form validation, e-commerce checkout processes, and financial application input verification.
