This regex captures MAC addresses in various formats including colon-separated (00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E), hyphen-separated (00-1A-2B-3C-4D-5E), dot-separated, space-separated, or without separators. It matches six groups of two hexadecimal digits with optional separators between them. The global and multiline flags allow finding multiple MAC addresses across multiple lines of text.
