Build, test, and debug regular expressions
This regular expression matches standard MAC addresses composed of six groups of two hexadecimal digits separated by colons (e.g., 00:1a:2b:3c:4d:5e). It searches for five repetitions of a two-character hex pair followed by a colon, ending with a final hex pair. Due to the way the character class is written, it technically also matches literal parentheses and pipes, but it is practically used for finding network interface addresses in text logs or configurations.
