Build, test, and debug regular expressions
This regular expression parses standard Linux system log entries, such as those found in syslog or auth logs. It extracts the abbreviated month, day, and timestamp, followed by the hostname or domain, process name, and process ID (PID). Finally, it matches the log message body until it encounters a parenthesis, space, pipe, backslash, or quote character. It is highly useful for log analysis scripts requiring structured data extraction.
