Build, test, and debug regular expressions
This regex attempts to match email addresses by looking for a pattern with characters before and after an @ symbol. It allows letters, dots, hyphens, underscores (and unintentionally pipe characters) in the local part, letters in the domain, and requires at least 2 letters in the TLD. Note that the unescaped dot matches any character, making it more permissive than intended.
