Build, test, and debug regular expressions
This regular expression matches IPv4 addresses where each octet consists of exactly two or three digits. It validates the format of an IP address by checking for numbers ranging from 00 to 999 separated by periods. Note that it will not match valid IPs containing single-digit octets like 1.1.1.1, nor does it verify that the numbers fall within the valid 0-255 range. It is useful for finding specifically formatted IP addresses in structured text or logs.
