Test, validate and match regular expressions
This regular expression matches exactly three alphabetic characters at the very beginning of a string. It is primarily used to extract or validate the ICAO airline code from the start of a flight number. Because it uses the case-insensitive flag, it successfully matches both uppercase and lowercase three-letter codes. This makes it useful for data validation in travel and aviation applications.
