Test, validate and match regular expressions
This regular expression matches a standard UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) or GUID (Globally Unique Identifier). It validates the exact format of 8 hexadecimal characters followed by groups of 4, 4, 4, and 12 hexadecimal characters, separated by hyphens. Due to the case-insensitive flag, it accepts both uppercase and lowercase letters. It is commonly used to validate hardware IDs, software license keys, or database primary keys.
