This regex matches dates in the format DD.MM.YYYY (day.month.year). It validates that days are between 01-31 and months are between 01-12 using lookaheads. Note that it doesn't perform comprehensive date validation (e.g., it won't reject invalid dates like 31.02.2023). The pattern is commonly used in European date formats and basic form validation.
