This PCRE regex extracts text content from within <a> tags, but only when those tags appear between 'startString' and 'endString' markers. Using \G to continue matching from the previous position and \K to reset the match start, it efficiently captures multiple matches in a single pass. The possessive quantifiers prevent backtracking for better performance.
