This regex captures text (like a country name) before a phone prefix number. It uses a negative lookahead to match everything except the phone pattern, then captures the phone prefix which may include digits with optional parenthetical extensions (like '1 (234/567)'). With the global flag, it can process multiple entries in a list or document.
