Build, test, and debug regular expressions
This regex matches basic email addresses with a local part, @ symbol, single domain character, dot, and alphanumeric TLD. It captures any non-space/non-@ characters before @, then exactly one character for the domain, followed by a literal dot and alphanumeric characters. Note this pattern has significant limitations: only allows one character between @ and the dot, doesn't support subdomains or multiple dots, and rejects most valid email formats. Best suited for very basic email extraction tasks where simplicity outweighs accuracy.
