Test, validate and match regular expressions
This PCRE regex captures an email-like pattern where the local part (before @) must be identical to the domain part (after @). It uses a backreference \g<1> to ensure both sections contain the exact same sequence of word characters, dots, and hyphens. This could be used to detect suspicious or symmetric email addresses, or as a specialized validation pattern.
