This regular expression extracts Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) numbers from text, such as SEC EDGAR financial filings. It looks for the literal string 'SIC:' followed by a space, and then captures two or more digits representing the actual code. It is highly useful for parsing corporate documents and automating financial data collection.
