This regex matches date-like patterns consisting of three pairs of digits separated by any character at the start of a line. It captures each two-digit segment individually, making it useful for extracting day, month, and year components from short date formats like DD-MM-YY or MM/DD/YY. The multiline flag allows it to match the beginning of every line in a multiline string.
