Test, validate and match regular expressions
This regex matches zero or more consecutive digit characters (0-9), since \d inside the character class represents any decimal digit and the * quantifier allows unlimited repetitions, including zero. Because * matches zero or more, this pattern can also successfully match an empty string. It is commonly used for extracting numeric sequences from text, matching optional numbers, or validating digit-only content.
